Foundation Year 1 & 2 (FY1 & FY2)
After registering with the General Medical Council (GMC), these are the first job grades awarded a doctor. Previous to the new GMC classification, these Training Grades were known as Junior House Officer and Senior House Officer respectively.
After completion of the FY1 year's training, a doctor can register with the GMC. After completion of the FY2 year, as a doctor you can specialise in a particular area of interest or enter General Practitioner training.
MP Locums can offer both FY1 and FY1 locum doctors the opportunity to further their experience within the NHS by placing them in supervised temporary positions. If there is an area of medicine you are particularly interested in, please inform MP Locums during the registration process so that we can file this interest and place you when the appropriate positions becomes available.
